I guess that you got an alert about this blog, by the small window that popped-up (and if not, register now!). I guess that you also really like the SMS idea…

People have become so dynamic. Whether it is good or bad (my wife and I still arguing), one thing is for sure: we should get used to it. All of us, as consumers of services, don’t want to spend time in searching for what we need. we want to say what we need, and we want it to get to us.

One example is a request that I got from one of our customers. He wants his sales reps to get notifications by SMS when, based on a business rule that he sets, the sales reps need to be updated. “I can’t allow standard investigation. It takes time. I want my people to visit customers, and not to sit in front of the computer”.

One can say “well, this is something that I should look after”. I thought that I’ll have to come up with a complexed solution. and guess what? I was amazed to find out that almost everything is already in place. Only a connection to SMS service provider is needed. and I’m talking about a version that was released almost two years ago! WOW!

I guess that the Panorama people (and it was before I joined Panorama) knew what they were doing.
