Live BI in PowerPoint – great demo or useful functionality?
Posted by Oudi Antebi under On-Premise BI1 Comment
It’s been 2 years since we introduced the ability to create live views inside PowerPoint. Basically this feature enables users to create comprehensive PowerPoint presentations that contain views (charts, crosstabs, grids, reports, gages) that have live data that refreshes every time data gets updated.Â
To be honest, this feature was built based on one of our largest customer’s request and is being used extensively in our demos and POCs.Â
The PowerPoint functionality is a fee addition to our NovaView users and therefore it was tough to really track usage of this feature (and still is).Â
What do you think? Great demo or useful feature?

I think that this is a very useful feature and I’ll explain why:
One of the biggest problems in my organization is the problem of assimilation. What is happening is that after we built our Data Warehouse, giving our customers all they need to get their measures, reports etc., they still coming to their meetings with their static PowerPoint presentations, showing no updated (and sometimes not accurate) data.
This new feature can be quite helpful.
Can you write more about this?
Thanks.
