As the first company to offer a virtual appliance for BI I was asked how we differ from the newly released Virtual appliance released by Business Objects. The answer is very simple:

  • The Panorama NovaView Virtual Appliance includes the full suite of BI applications; Analytics, reporting, scorecarding, dashboarding and visualization.
  • The Business Objects VA only includes reporting
  • The Panorama NovaView Virtual appliance does not have metadata layer such as Business Objects Universe and therefore can very easily plug and play into various existing OLAP solutions such as Microsoft SQL Analysis services and SAP BW
