When users don’t come to BI, BI comes to the user

While business intelligence vendors are focusing on trying to tweak BI tools to fit the needs of more users, it seems that in real life this trend is not picking up and users still feel that BI tools are too complex for them.
The reason more users need BI is because today they mostly use static reports that don’t provide too much insights or just make decisions based on gut feeling.
There is no doubt that more people in the organization could benefit from better BI insights….
After trying for years to tweak BI to fit more users we are now trying to approach this from a new angle – Bring the BI insights to users….
Proactive BI gives information workers key metrics and instant insights without having to use BI tools at all or spend a lot of time navigating BI reports.
One example of such product is Novaview® Spotlight which brings BI data and insights to more users by delivering insights directly to Microsoft Outlook, and providing data in a personal dashboard format. The idea behind Spotlight is to bring into the most widely used information worker application the insights each users care about most in a proactive way. So users don’t need to go find insights, insights find them.
By simplifying how we access BI data, we hope to make that data more available to the entire organization. Proactive business intelligence is just another way businesses can get more out of their BI suites.
