Support for SQL Server Analysis Services

Overview

Panorama’s solution for Google Docs offers enterprise users the ability to analyze data from their Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services platform. This is done through the use of local cube files.

A local cube is an offline version of an Analysis Server cube. Local cubes can contain an entire cube or a subset of a full Analysis Server cube. Local cubes offer all the multidimensional browsing that is available in Analysis Server cubes. Users can analyze corporate data, sharing and collaborating with fully interactive reports. All this is done using the power of the Panorama Enterprise Gadget inside of Google Docs.

Some users refer to local cubes as offline cube files. Others call them “cub” files, because they always use a .cub extension.
