Beta release of Panorama 4.5 Optimized for Microsoft SQL Server 2005
TORONTO and CHICAGO – March 7, 2005 – Panorama Software, a global leader in business intelligence (BI) solutions for the Microsoft platform, today announced the beta release of Panorama 4.5, the company's flagship BI solution. Announced at the Gartner Business Intelligence 2005 conference in Chicago, Panorama 4.5 supports both SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 and includes key enhancements and new functionalities that enable businesses to implement comprehensive, high performance BI solutions faster and more cost effectively. Panorama 4.5 will be generally available in April 2005.
"SQL Server 2005 changes the landscape of the BI market," said Dr. Allon Cohen, Vice President, Product Management, Panorama Software. "This latest release from Panorama continues to demonstrate our ability to enable and extend SQL Server 2005 capabilities. Our newly enhanced reporting, analysis and dashboard products proactively provide business users the relevant information they need to be more successful."
Companies investigating SQL Server 2005 can take advantage of the improvements in this latest release from Microsoft by leveraging Panorama's new features to access data that already exists inside the organization. Utilizing these valuable data assets can dramatically improve performance and results:
- Enhanced Dashboard: The new Panorama 4.5 dashboard provides "Live Updates" enabling businesses to automatically push near real-time dynamic content to decision makers. Panorama also supports the ability for end users to customize the layout of their dashboards, enabling them to define how they want information presented to them.
- Exception Ticker – Panorama 4.5 enhances its alert and notification capabilities by presenting its bubble-up exceptions inside a new ticker bar within its dashboard. End users are notified of a problem or an exception directly inside a scrolling ticker bar.
- Expanded Report Authoring Capabilities: Panorama 4.5 supports matrix regions and 3D charting for building production reports, as well as multiple levels of grouping and sorting for ad hoc query.
- Support of Large Dimensions – Allows users to easily navigate, search, and select relevant information from large data sets.
"Through this latest offering, Panorama continues the tradition of enhancing and extending the Microsoft SQL Server BI platform," said Bill Baker, General Manager for SQL Server Business Intelligence at Microsoft Corp. "Together we are redefining the way companies manage and use information. Panorama 4.5 for SQL Server 2005 provides customers with enterprise-ready solutions."
