The OLAP Report Validates Panorama NovaView as Best Product for Microsoft and SAP BI
Leading BI Suite Recognized as the Most Optimized OLAP Client Tool in the Market
TORONTO, ON, October 29, 2007 – Panorama Software, a global leader in Proactive Business Intelligence (PBI) solutions, today announced that The OLAP Report confirms that Panorama Software’s BI suite succeeds as the most sophisticated and scalable BI suite for Analysis Services and SAP BW, ahead of Microsoft’s and SAP’s BI tools and general-purpose BI providers.
The OLAP Report is an independent, Web-only research resource that provides strict, unbiased information to help buyers make the most of their BI tool selection and implementation projects. Nigel Pendse, the lead author of The OLAP Report and the principal of OLAP Solutions, performed an intensive and impartial review of Panorama Software’s NovaView® suite and, with his team, produced an in-depth analysis report about the product and where it is positioned in the current market.
Significantly, The OLAP Report recommends that for organizations looking for a powerful analytical tool that offers the “maximum exploitation of Microsoft’s rich OLAP API or SAP BW, Panorama has a compelling, and probably unbeatable, offering.” This is because Panorama Software “differentiates itself from other BI vendors by remaining 100 percent focused on OLAP, and optimizes NovaView® for each server accessed (something that larger BI vendors have conspicuously failed to do).”
According to the report, NovaView® is a lightweight product that runs on top of, rather than superseding, a customer’s strategic BI platform—such as SAP BW or Analysis Services—it is therefore a much easier decision to buy from Panorama Software than it is to “buy into the increasingly large and complex BI platforms from Business Objects and Cognos”, both of which are much larger commitments.
“Panorama Software is a small BI company that has had a disproportionate impact on the global OLAP market. However, Panorama’s market position has moved upstream and, based on our research, the company is now the last significant independent OLAP client tool vendor left,” said Pendse. “Panorama Software is clearly targeting the larger organizations that want a more optimized OLAP client tool than is available from Microsoft or the large, general-purpose OLAP vendors. In addition, Panorama’s BI suite is no longer just focused on the Microsoft OLAP market; it has moved on and now works with SAP BW, with Essbase expected to follow.”
“We, at Panorama Software, are pleased to be recognized as the only serious contender providing OLAP-based BI applications by Nigel Pendse and The OLAP Report team,” said Oudi Antebi, Vice President of Marketing and Strategy, Panorama Software. “This recognition validates Panorama’s strategy to help customers take leverage their investment in Microsoft and SAP platforms and get the most out of these solutions, without having to introduce additional platforms. We strive to continually provide the most innovative and highest-quality BI products that compliment our customers’ investments while also providing information workers better usability, performance and functionality.”
Panorama Software continues to offer their Virtual appliance as an instant download with 10 free licenses. The Virtual appliance is a complete BI suite running on a virtual hard drive that is pre-configured and ready to run within minutes. It can be downloaded from www.panorama.com/challenge.
