Panorama Software takes Business Intelligence to the next level with Proactive BI

Panorama is moving from concept to execution of its Proactive Business Intelligence (PBI) vision.  After evaluating trends and challenges of Information Workers, Panorama came up with several key findings:

• BI has evolved primarily in the back end, but not much has progressed for end users.  Information workers are still angling for tools that will allow them to focus on what’s relevant from the reams of data they are viewing on a daily basis.
• To make actionable BI a true reality, solution providers need to focus on structured actions
• Automating the routing tasks of information workers is the only way to bridge the gap between process and intelligence.
• Because corporate data exists in a multitude of business systems, solutions must be able to work natively across any data source to deliver true impact to organizations.

Based on these findings, Panorama developed its Proactive BI strategy and created a roadmap for its NovaView suite that will enable information workers to:

• Focus on the relevant – ensuring information workers get key metrics and insights as opposed to just reports
• Take structured action – ensuring information workers can take direct action in the form of a workflow or business process directly from within the BI applications
• Automate the routine – enabling BI insights to integrate with leading BPM applications for full process automation

To coincide with our research and development efforts, marketing is working aggressively with customers and the analyst community to define a new market segment for PBI based on a provider’s ability to deliver on the four following pillars – cross platform support, focus on the relevant, structured actions and automation of the routine.
