The Layout option provides various ways of displaying a hierarchy in the grid.
To switch to a layout:
Click on the dimension heading. From the dimension menu select Layout, and from the submenu choose the layout.
The sections below describe the different layouts.
This is the default layout. It displays the members of the dimension in standard hierarchical format with no subtotals at parent level.
In the following example, the Product Model Categories dimension is presented in standard layout. The Components member is drilled down but no totals are shown for it.
This is similar to Standard layout, but shows also subtotals for the parent members in the selected dimension.
In the following example, the Product Model Categories dimension is presented in Standard with Parents layout. Subtotals are displayed for the parent members All Products and Components.
This layout displays the dimension’s members and their parents in tree format, with subtotals at parent level.
In the following example, the Product Model Categories dimension is displayed in Tree layout. Subtotals are shown for the parent members All Products and Components.
This layout removes hierarchies from the dimension by hiding the parent member headings and showing just the members for which data is displayed.
In the following example, the Product Model Categories dimension is displayed in Flat layout. Note that the Components member heading has been removed so that the members of this member show at the same level as Accessories, Bikes and Clothing.
