Necto Settings

Authentication Type

Indicates how users should be authenticated. The possibilities are:

·         Windows: Necto supports integration with Active Directory users and Windows Integrated Authentication. This means that users already authenticated to a domain will have transparent access to workboards, and will not be asked for login information (user name and password).

·         Necto: Users can be created via the Users option. These users, in contrast to Active Directory users, will be redirected to a login page when accessing Necto, where they will have to provide a user name and a password.

·         Mixed: Both Windows and Necto authentication are used. When a Windows user is not identified by Necto, he/she is redirected to the login page and prompted to enter a user name and a password.

Security Mode

You can set the default data cube security to one of the following options:

·         No Security: All users can have access to data in the cube.

·         OLAP: Security based on OLAP definitions. The user must have an OLAP connection, or must be associated with a role in the Active Directory, or be associated to the Active Directory via a user alias.

Make sure Impersonate Roles is selected for role-based security unless the OLAP security is specifically set to impersonate users and roles are not being used.

·         Necto: Based on data security definitions created in Necto.

Cache Data Views

When the Cache mechanism is used (property set to True), the response is faster and there is less overhead on the OLAP server. The drawback of using data caching is that it saves only the initial query, and not the actions preformed later, such as drill down or slicing.

Show OLAP Data Using User Locale

When the property is set to True, Necto detects the locale of the users and presents them with UI in their native language, and also OLAP data in that language.

Necto administrator email

Your Necto administrator’s email address. This email will be displayed in messages when the user needs to contact an administrator.

Necto users color file

Click  and select the color file that contains the color configuration for users in the social ribbon.

Allow non-admin users to create new views from SSAS

When this option is selected, end-users will be allowed to create new views on corporate data.
