Panorama Offers Dedicated BI Option To Microsoft PerformancePoint Server And Proclarity Customers Affected By Discontinuation Announcement

Panorama, Maker of NovaView® BI, is Committed to Long-Term Enterprise BI Development; January 29 Webinar Event to Explain Migration Option to PPS and Proclarity Users

TORONTO, ON – (January 27, 2009) – Panorama Software, a global leader in proactive Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and the company that sold its OLAP technology to Microsoft, announced today that its flagship BI product, NovaView®, is immediately available as a reliable, long-term BI solution for Microsoft PerformancePoint Server and Proclarity customers adversely affected by Microsoft’s recent discontinuation announcement.

Panorama NovaView is a comprehensive BI solution designed for the Microsoft SQL Server BI Platform.  It includes virtually all features of the PerformancePoint Server BI dashboard, analytics and monitoring in a fully Web-based or desktop client.  NovaView is available in both On-premise and SaaS versions.

To ensure a seamless changeover for interested customers, Panorama is offering a migration path to NovaView, including the company’s offsite SaaS product.  Panorama has set a special Webinar event on January 29, 2009, to answer questions and explain alternatives for Microsoft PerformancePoint Server customers.

On January 23, Microsoft announced that it will discontinue offering standalone versions of PerformancePoint Server, its integrated performance management product. As part of that announcement Microsoft announced it will also stop selling the Proclarity Pro product which will have no future versions.  When that occurs, there will no longer a dedicated Business Intelligence product; instead, Microsoft will simply offer BI as a set of services among others in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

“Panorama is a BI company, one that has invested heavily in providing the best BI solution for the Microsoft BI platform,” said Oudi Antebi, Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for Panorama Software.  “We believe companies deserve a Business Intelligence solution that is supported by someone completely dedicated to its development and success, rather than something that is a small portion of a larger business solution.  Panorama was, is, and will be the best overall solution for customers who choose the Microsoft SQL Server platform for BI.”

With Microsoft’s shift to providing BI within Office and SharePoint, users will be able to accomplish a limited range of analysis and scorecarding.  However, Panorama intends to aggressively pursue its strategy of offering full enterprise BI functionality in a single, complete and integrated suite that surpasses the basic capabilities to be found in Office or SharePoint, and with a greater pace of innovation.

Panorama is offering a special promotion for Proclarity customers looking to migrate to Panorama NovaView.  Details can be received by emailing to proclarity@panorama.com.  The company is also providing complete technical assistance to enterprise users wishing to migrate to its NovaView Server platform. To learn more about Panorama’s suite of dedicated NovaView BI solutions, go to www.panorama.com.
